{"id":3274,"date":"2020-07-24T10:32:31","date_gmt":"2020-07-24T08:32:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ripack.com\/?p=3274"},"modified":"2020-07-24T15:01:04","modified_gmt":"2020-07-24T13:01:04","slug":"the-storage-of-gas-bottles-in-companies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ripack.com\/en\/event\/the-storage-of-gas-bottles-in-companies\/","title":{"rendered":"THE STORAGE OF GAS BOTTLES IN THE WORKPLACE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3271\" src=\"https:\/\/ripack.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/botellas-bombonas-gas-butano-couleur-naranja_79295-19610-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"426\" height=\"284\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ripack.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/botellas-bombonas-gas-butano-couleur-naranja_79295-19610-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ripack.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/botellas-bombonas-gas-butano-couleur-naranja_79295-19610.jpg 626w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 426px) 100vw, 426px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Storing gas cylinders in your company<\/h2>\n<p>If you work with gas, you know that there are some precautions to take when storing your cylinders.\u00a0 We recommend that you apply the following rules.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>How do I store full gas cylinders?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Gas cylinders should always be stored in an upright position, without their regulators and on a stable support.<\/strong> This will prevent the gas from escaping in liquid form, thus avoiding the risk of fire.<\/p>\n<p>There are a few important rules to take into account when handling and storing your cylinders:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anyone handling or using gas must be specially trained and wear safety shoes and handling gloves.<\/li>\n<li>Use a bottle trolley, and if this is not possible, roll the bottle while holding it by the cap.<\/li>\n<li>Secure the bottles at the top to prevent them from falling. Never hold a falling bottle in place.<\/li>\n<li>Preferably, transport acetylene and liquefied gas bottles (propane, carbon dioxide, etc.) in an upright position.<\/li>\n<li>Protect your bottles as much as possible from the sun&#8217;s rays.<\/li>\n<li>Keep the bottles away from contact with oils and fats.<\/li>\n<li>Store your bottles vertically and fastened, preferably outdoors, or at least in a well-ventilated room provided for this purpose.<\/li>\n<li>In case of indoor storage, the electrical installation, and in particular the lighting must be adapted to the nature of the gases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For cylinders that will be stored for a long time, when it is time to use them, you will need to wipe the valve outlet with a clean cloth, and purge the valve outlet channel to remove dust.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Storing empty or out of order gas cylinders<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Be aware that a gas cylinder may look empty, but may not be completely empty. That is why the storage of empty cylinders must be well respected.<\/p>\n<p>When a cylinder appears to be empty, be sure to take the same safety precautions as when it is full.<\/p>\n<p>Mark your bottles; store them separately from new ones. Check that the valve is closed. Your empty cylinders should then be returned to your supplier.<\/p>\n<p>Do not hesitate to ask us if you have any doubts.
