Sefmat against coronavirus
As soon as the Covid19 virus appeared, Sefmat team sought to get involved, to find a way to support the healthcare teams in this complicated period. We quickly became involved in a human adventure, which once again highlighted the values of our company, values that every member of the team shares.
Initially, we chose to donate our stock of FFP2 masks to the healthcare teams. Each person on the team validated this decision, and it was therefore collectively that we agreed to provide more than 700 masks.
It quickly became clear that the team wanted to get involved, to participate at our level in the fight against this virus.
The engineering teams looked at how the company’s 3D printers could be used. One of them thought of creating an artificial respirator. After various researches, it appeared complicated to carry out this project, for health reasons.
The head of the design office found a group of “makers” (owner of a 3D printer), who were looking to manufacture protective visors.
We became part of the manufacturing group, providing our printing capabilities, as well as the materials and transparent sheets needed for the manufacture.
Each member of the Sefmat team made an appeal for donations in order to collect the materials needed to create the protective visors.
The group of makers quickly grew from around ten to more than a hundred members. More than 15,000 visors have already been manufactured and distributed to the teams on the front line.
Various actions have been implemented by our team, with the sole aim of helping healthcare personnel and anyone else who may be confronted with the virus.
Today we are proud of our teams, of the shared values, and of this solidarity with our country’s healthcare teams. With this article, we would also like to thank the hospital staff, nursing homes and liberal nurses.
