WHY CHOOSE SHRINK WRAP?
Why choose shrink wrap?
The protection of your goods is crucial during storage and transport. The risk of damage is high, which is why the stability is important when choosing your film, which can be shrink or stretch. We explain the advantages of shrink film and why it can be more suitable than stretch film.
Stretch film
Stretch film is available in various thicknesses, from 15 to 30 microns, which can support more or less important loads. This type of film can be applied manually or with the help of a wrapping machine.
However, stretch film remains fragile and can easily be damaged during transport and replaced.
You can watch the demonstration video on the difference between shrink film and stretch film, which we made via the following link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6dbrjYrHU4.
Shrink film
Shrink film is a film that shrinks on contact with heat and conforms to the shape of the goods it is going to protect.
Highly resistant to weather, UV and temperature variations, this film is very efficient. It requires a shrinking tool to heat the film so that it adapts to the merchandise.
The advantages of shrink film
Shrink film is a type of film that adapts entirely to the goods you wish to wrap: one or more pallets, an object of any shape, a vehicle…
Shrink films also have the advantage of protecting goods from weather, UV, extreme temperatures as well as corrosion, scratches and theft.
Shrink film allows you to store your goods outside if your warehouse does not offer indoor storage.
The different shrink films
At Ripack, we offer different types of shrink film, adaptable to all your needs.
It is the essential consumable for manufacturers using pallets of different heights. In this case, in order to avoid loss of time and consumables, you should choose to go on rolls..
We offer a range of films from 4 to 12 meters wide with thicknesses from 180 to 210 microns depending on the width of the film.
There are many applications, from protection of a boat during winter periods to buildings, containers or even ski cabins.
The high quality of our films ensures bi-oriented shrinkage (explain) and excellent weld strength.
- Adhesive for shrink wrap: to protect the film
Our shrink adhesives are available in 2 widths, 50 and 100 mm. The 50 mm allows to fix the film before sealing and to secure vents. The 100 mm will be useful for masking holes in the film, protecting the film from overhangs or securing zipped doors.
These adhesives are easily removable in the first minutes of application; it is difficult to peel them off after about 15 minutes.
Their adhesive mass works on a clean and dry support, be sure to clean the contact areas to increase sticking. Note, however, that the adhesive is not shrinkable. In order to prevent the adhesive tape from peeling off, you will only have to run over shortly with your gun.
