What kind of packaging to protect your goods stored outdoors?

What kind of packaging to protect your goods stored outdoors?

Sometimes we have to store some or all of our goods outdoors. Storing goods outdoors raises the issue of protecting these goods from a number of factors such as humidity, UV or heat.

There is a wide range of products available to protect your goods stored outdoors, but are they all really suitable for protecting your goods?

It is important to choose the right packaging for the protection of goods stored outdoors according to your needs.

Heat-shrink film

This film, which shrinks when heated, adapts perfectly to the shape of your goods. It therefore holds the goods in place as tightly as possible. Shrink wrap is also a good way to protect goods stored outdoors as it provides an extra layer of protection against the elements such as rain, snow, wind, dust, etc. The film is waterproof and tear-resistant, which keeps the stored goods free from humidity and dirt.

Anti-UV heat-shrink film

Goods stored outdoors are often subject to UV exposure. Anti-UV shrink wrap is a good solution for protecting goods stored outdoors as it offers protection from the sun’s harmful rays, which can damage products exposed to direct sunlight for long periods. This can include products such as building materials, garden furniture, sports equipment and food products. By preventing UV rays from penetrating through the film, heat is also reduced, which can help prevent degradation and discolouration of stored products.

Translucent heat-shrink film

Translucent shrink film is a good way to protect goods stored outdoors as it helps to protect them from the weather while still allowing natural light to pass through. This is particularly useful for products that require a certain amount of light, such as plants and flowers, or for storage areas where visibility is important.

Opaque heat-shrink film

Sometimes there is a need to keep the contents of goods discreet. Opaque shrink film is the right way to protect goods stored outdoors as it can keep the products hidden, reducing the risk of theft and vandalism. In addition, the film is also tear-resistant, which offers additional protection against physical damage caused by vandalism. In short, opaque shrink film can provide effective visual protection for your products stored outdoors.

As well as keeping your goods out of sight, opaque films can also affect heat. This will depend on the colour used. White has the property of reflecting UV rays while black stores heat and releases it to the stored goods.

So, depending on your storage needs, don’t hesitate to ask for advice on the right shrink films. You are bound to find the right solution for your needs among the different widths, thicknesses and characteristics of each shrink film.

In addition, all our films (LDPE) are made from 50% recycled material and are 100% recyclable.
